Calling Home by David Concepcion

April 2003: Angelo Arriaga, an army reservist now stationed in Iraq, communicates with his family back in Arizona via computer. Among his immediate family: his fiancee studying at ASU; his protesting peace activist brother; and both his undocumented worker parents. The family conversations serve as a microcosm of the changing landscape of both the military invasion of a foreign land and foreign immigrants living invisibly in America.
