For one night only, Firehouse Center for the Arts is partnering with Seven Stages Shakespeare Company (7SSC) to bring their ultra-popular ShakesBEERience series to Newburyport! This FREE FOR ALL, Or Pay What You Will event will offer audience members the opportunity to experience Shakespeare’s Hamlet at Sea Level Oyster Bar on Monday, March 16 at 6:30PM. ShakesBEERience is 7SSC’s play reading program, now in its 8^th Season. Using the vernacular of the bar, with script in one hand and libation in the other, actors navigate their way through Shakespeare’s plays while audiences are free to order dinner or drinks as the play happens around them. The goal is to unpack the language in a fun, unique and accessible way in an easy-going, and entertaining environment.

This event is timed during the run of the full production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead at the Firehouse. Since the characters in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead  are all from Shakespeare’s Hamlet, this ShakesBEERience event will offer audiences the real treat of seeing the same cast in both the full production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead at the Firehouse, and the ShakesBEERience Hamlet event at Sea Level Oyster Bar.

This event is FREE FOR ALL, Or Pay What You Will (except, of course for the delish food & drinks from Sea Level Oyster Bar!) Whether you come for the whole reading, or can just stay for one scene- the ShakesBEERience you have is up to you!
