SUMMARY:Double Impact
DESCRIPTION:Tickets are $20 OR proof of equivalent 2022 donation to IRAP or MIRA \nPurchase Tickets\n\nThe Double Impact chamber group is a double quintet ensemble – brass and woodwind – made up of professional and semi-professional musicians from the North Shore and Greater Boston areas.  Their goal is to promote works originally written for this specific orchestration\, as well as other lesser-known chamber pieces\, while donating their artistry to help fulfill an urgent need. \nDouble Impact previously performed in concert in 2017\, featuring works by Robert Washburn and Aaron Copland and raising funds for Direct Aid in the aftermath of Hurricanes Harvey\, Irma and Maria.  This time\, they have again banded together to provide support for the mass of refugees fleeing Afghanistan and Ukraine. All proceeds from ticket sales for the Firehouse Center concert will be donated to the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP\, https://refugeerights.org/). IRAP organizes law students and pro-bono attorneys to develop and enforce a set of legal and human rights for refugees and displaced persons\, advancing legal pathways to safety for the world’s most persecuted individuals and empowering the next generation of human rights leaders. Utilizing the lessons learned in individual casework\, IRAP advocates for systemic changes that benefit broader refugee populations\, finding creative ways to partner with broad coalitions to push for global refugee protections. \nDouble Impact is supported in part by grants from the Ipswich and Massachusetts Cultural Councils. \nPurchase Tickets

SUMMARY:An Evening with Donato Tramuto
DESCRIPTION:FREE \nReserve Your Spot\n\nHeld at the Firehouse Center for the Arts in Market Square in Newburyport\, and in partnership with TURNING POINT\, INC.\, the authors’ presentation will be followed by a conversation with Phil Johnston\, President and CEO of Johnston Associates\, Karen Nascembeni\, General Manager of North Shore Music Theatre\, and Jim Geraghty\, Managing Director\, Morgan Stanley\, and moderated by Tom Rosa\, an audience question and answer session\, and a book signing. \nThis event coincides with the announcement of NATIONAL COMPASSIONATE LEADERSHIP WEEK – the brainchild of Tramuto and his TramutoPorter Foundation. National Compassionate Leadership Week celebrates compassionate leaders by bringing attention to the proven benefits of compassionate leadership through use of empathy in action to garner the greatest impact. It shows through their own example that it is possible to be compassionate and deliver strong results at the same time. In fact\, leading with compassion produces stronger results whether it be in business\, education\, politics or in our own families and communities. \nReserve Your Spot\n\nABOUT THE BOOK\n‘The Double Bottom Line’ shares original research fielded among 1\,500 US workers\, and in-depth interviews with 40 successful leaders who practice compassionate leadership. Tramuto’s research exposed a compassionate leadership gap — leaders express support for compassionate practices\, but most workers don’t perceive their leaders to be practicing compassionate leadership adequately\, if at all. Tramuto puts forth proven strategies to close that compassionate leadership gap and drive results. Filled with inspiring stories and actionable examples from successful high-profile employers\, ‘The Double Bottom Line’ defines a new model of leadership and examines how to cultivate more compassionate people. The book has been on Amazon’s best seller list and has been featured in numerous Amazon categories as a top 100 best seller. \nABOUT THE AUTHOR\nRecognized by The New York Times as a global health activist\, Donato J. Tramuto is the former CEO of Tivity Health and founder of the TramutoPorter Foundation and Health eVillages. He has nearly four decades of business leadership experience and is most notable for his ability to balance transactional and transformational leadership within organizations. Tramuto launched two successful start-ups\, led the turnaround of a public healthcare company\, and executed innovative programs leading to sustainable business results through his Compassionate Leadership approach. He was the recipient of the prestigious Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award in 2014 and the Robert F. Kennedy Embracing His Legacy Award in 2017. In 2014\, he was awarded the Pharma Lifetime Achievement Award for his many decades of work around balance profits with doing good. In 2018\, he was awarded the Nashville Business Magazine Award for one of the most admired CEOs in Nashville\, Tennessee. He has been awarded Honorary Doctorate Degrees from UMASS University at Lowell\, Thomas Jefferson University\, Lasell University (Boston)\, St. Joseph’s College (Maine) and Regis College (Boston). \nIn 2016\, he published his first book\, Life’s Bulldozer Moments: How adversity leads to success in life and Business.

SUMMARY:Storm Surge: 2040 Film
DESCRIPTION:Tickets: Free \nReserve Tickets\n\n2040 is a hybrid feature documentary that looks to the future\, but is vitally important NOW! \nDrawing on the best minds from around the world to focus on climate\, economics\, technology\, civil society\, agriculture and sustainability\, 2040 maps out a pathway for change that can lead us to a more ecologically sustainable and equitable future. \nMotivated by his 4-year-old daughter and concern for the planet she will inherit\, Damon Gameau embarks on a global journey to meet the innovators and change makers pioneering the best solutions already available to us today to improve the health of our planet and societies. Inspired by these discoveries and guided by the many children he consults with along the way\, Damon interweaves dramatic sequences and high-end visual effects to conjure a positive portrait of what ‘could be’ instead of the current dystopian future we are so often presented. \nAimed at a broad audience that includes children and their parents\, serious information is delivered with irreverence and humor. Experts are shrunk into scenes to emphasize a point\, animation makes the invisible visible and visual effects show how scaling these solutions by 2040 will positively impact our lives and our planet. This rich visual approach combined with the structure of an intimate letter to a daughter from her father allows for lightness and cheekiness\, ensuring the film is both entertaining and educational\, with the end goal being to inspire action and change. \nMany academics believe that people become inactive or paralyzed on this topic because it all just feels too overwhelming and alarming. 2040 is an aspirational film full of hope about the possibility to make changes that will shift the course for humanity and the planet. \nThis is the narrative the next generation needs to see\, to aspire to\, and to believe is possible. \nReserve Tickets
