DESCRIPTION:Purchase Tickets\n\nThe Methuen Ballet Ensemble returns to the Firehouse stage to present its rendition of Cinderella.  The ballet follows the story of Cinderella\, a young maiden\, forced by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters to live as a servant in her own home. When the prince announces that there will be a grand ball at the castle\, Cinderella begs her stepmother that she be allowed to attend but her stepmother refuses.  Cinderella’s dreams of attending the ball are interrupted when an old beggar woman arrives at their door. Her stepmother cruelly sends her away\, but Cinderella\, shows her kindness and offers her food.\n\n\nSoon after her family leaves for the ball\, the beggar woman returns and reveals herself as Cinderella’s godmother. As a reward for her kindness\, she calls upon the Fairies of the Four Seasons\, to bestow gifts to Cinderella. With the help of her godmother\, she prepares for the ball but is warned that she must leave the ball before midnight\, as the magic will not last! Will Cinderella finally meet her prince and live happily ever after? Or will the stepsisters’ efforts to woo the prince prevail?\n\n\nThe production features Cinderella’s magical pumpkin coach\, glass slippers\, mice that transform into horses\, a glowing fireplace\, gorgeous costumes\, and colorful sets. DESCRIPTION:$75 suggested donation per ticket\n  \nPurchase Tickets\n\nFirehouse Ignites: A Really Big (virtual) Show\, presented by the Institution for Savings\, is the other half of the Firehouse’s online fundraiser and will be broadcast to your homes beginning at 7pm. It will bring viewers back to the days when Ed Sullivan showcased artists who became big stars in the US after performing on his show. For the Firehouse’s 2020 version\, expect performances from local talent including Alex Anthony Band\, comedian Steve Sweeney\, and an All-Star cast of Firehouse performers. The broadcast can be viewed at home on TVs\, computers or smart phones. \nExecutive Director John Moynihan will act as host although he won’t be doing any impressions of Ed Sullivan. He will\, however\, continue his tradition of performing for guests and donors who have been delighted at past fundraisers by his original songs\, costumes and command of the stage. \nPort Plums + Newburyport Olive Oil Company\, Beach Plum Florist and Darling Consulting are three of the local businesses who have already committed to hosting watch parties and donate the proceeds to The Firehouse. There is no limit to the number of watch parties that can take place. \nOther sponsors of the annual fundraiser are Newburyport Development\, The Susanne Marcus Collins Foundation\,andMatt and Shauna Pieniazek. \n  \nPurchase Tickets

DESCRIPTION:Update re: Carrie  \nWe have just learned that a family member of one of our actors has recently tested positive for COVID-19. While this actor has tested negative\, we have decided to act with caution and care for our audience members\, cast\, band\, and crew by cancelling our two remaining performances of Carrie. While disappointing\, our number one priority is the health and safety of our Firehouse family. 2020 has proven to be our most challenging year to date – both artistically and financially – and we are grateful for the support our community continues to give us during this time.  \nPresented in partnership with Historic New England\, Firehouse Center for the Arts is thrilled to present Carrie\, the Musical. The live musical theater experience will be presented “drive-in” style with audience members enjoying the production from the comfort of their own vehicle and the show being broadcast straight to their radios. Due to the recent update in guidance\, all audiences members must remain in their vehicles throughout the performance. \nCarrie White is a teenage outcast who longs to fit in. At school\, she’s bullied by the popular crowd\, and virtually invisible to everyone else. At home\, she’s dominated by her loving but cruelly controlling mother. What none of them know is that Carrie’s just discovered she’s got a special power\, and if pushed too far\, she’s not afraid to use it. \n  \n \n

Presented in partnership with Operation Warming Hearts\, this is a perfect family event – complete with live Ghostbusters! \nAfter the members of a team of scientists (Harold Ramis\, Dan Aykroyd\, Bill Murray) lose their cushy positions at a university in New York City\, they decide to become “ghostbusters” to wage a high-tech battle with the supernatural for money. They stumble upon a gateway to another dimension\, a doorway that will release evil upon the city. The Ghostbusters must now save New York from complete destruction. \nWaiting List\n\n
