SUMMARY:The Stands
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Acting Out Productions\nAdult: $30\nStudent/Senior: $28 \nPurchase Tickets\n\nTHE STANDS Four moms\, one grandmother and one dad huddle together in the chill of a New England Saturday morning as they wait for their kids to begin their first Little League practice of the year. As we get to know them\, we’re surprised\, entertained and sometimes even shocked by what they have to say. Underneath the delightful banter\, however\, is the measured revelation of a horrible\, life-changing moment they all will share before the end of the play. THE STANDS\, winner of 4 New Hampshire Theatre Awards\, including Outstanding Professional Production\, is fast-moving\, funny and suspenseful — a moving\, stunning story about kids and parents and the shattering power of words.

SUMMARY:Charlotte's Web
DESCRIPTION:Our Project Sparx Teen Ensemble presents Charlotte’s Web!\nTickets: $15 for adults\, $12 for 12 and under \nPurchase Tickets\n\nOverview\nThe Children’s Literature Association named this “the best American children’s book of the past two hundred years\,” and Joseph Robinette\, working with the advice of E.B. White\, has created a play that captures this work in a thrilling and utterly practical theatrical presentation. All the enchanting characters are here in this non-musical tale: Wilbur\, the irresistible young pig who desperately wants to avoid the butcher; Fern\, a girl who understands what animals say to each other; Templeton\, the gluttonous rat who can occasionally be talked into a good deed; the Zuckerman family; the Arables; and\, most of all\, the extraordinary spider\, Charlotte\, who proves to be “a true friend and a good writer.” Determined to save Wilbur\, Charlotte begins her campaign with the “miracle” of her web in which she writes\, “Some pig.” It’s the beginning of a victorious campaign which ultimately ends with the now-safe Wilbur doing what is most important to Charlotte. \n  \nWhat Is Teen Ensemble Outreach?\nFor many years\, the Firehouse has put on four productions per year as a School Show Series\, for students in the Greater Newburyport Area school systems to attend as part of their curriculum. This will be the first of our Project Sparx Outreach Productions\, where the Teen Ensemble will be performing one of those shows for local students. In addition to public performances\, we will have two Wednesday morning school performances. Documentation will be provided to send to your school to assist in being released for that day. This is an excellent opportunity for our Sparx teens to be a positive influence on elementary and middle school age children and provide inspiration to the next generation of artists. \nPurchase Tickets
