There are many reasons to support the
Firehouse Center for the Arts'
2012 Annual Appeal
Read why Jordan Dunn-Pilz is asking you to support the Firehouse:
Name: Jordan Dunn-Pilz
Current Occupation: Student
"I first went to the Firehouse when I was about 10. My mom enrolled me in theater camps as a kid, I saw the Middle School plays, and then I auditioned for Grease. I haven’t stopped since then. Theater helps me to understand my surroundings and the people that I share the world with. It’s great to share a performance with an audience.
Newburyport is great because there are a lot of creative people, and there are lots of places for kids and adults to have their passions become a reality. Most of training has been here at Newburyport High School, but at the Firehouse I got to work with kids from other communities and with adults. The venue’s great. It’s more intimate than the High School. I think I’m going to pursue theater in
college, and I really think my “real-life” experience at the Firehouse will look great on my application!"
